SUMMARY:"Together We Win: Fight for the T in Team!" Rally for Trans Youth Cases at SCOTUS
DESCRIPTION:On Jan. 13\, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in two cases that will shape the future of transgender youth and people in this country: West Virginia v. BPJ and Little v. Hecox. These two cases represent two teenage girls from West Virginia and Idaho\, who sued just to be allowed to continue playing sports like any other student. And we are united as a Team for them! \nWHEN AND WHERE: JOIN US on Tuesday\, Jan. 13 in D.C. when a national coalition of organizations led by ACLU\, Lambda Legal\, Transgender Law Center (TLC) and Genders & Sexualities Alliance Network (GSA Network)\, are coming together to say clearly: We Fight for Team Trans Youth. And we need you with us! \nABOUT THE CASES: In these cases\, the Court will decide whether states can categorically bar transgender girls and women from participating on girls’ and women’s sports teams\, a direct challenge to the Equal Protection Clause and Title IX. A broad ruling could go even further\, opening the door to widespread discrimination against transgender people not only from playing sports but in every part of public life\, including a discriminatory shift in how youth participate in school activities and extracurricular programs. These cases go beyond laws and impact who we should respect as part of our communities\, what our public schools should be like and who they should serve\, and what role the government should play in our lives.

DESCRIPTION:Throughout 2025\, the transgender community met legal attacks and state violence with resilience. We never stop fighting for our right to bodily autonomy. This Transgender Awareness Week\, let’s gather to grieve\, reflect\, and explore what resilience means to trans and nonbinary folks. Local organizers will share their work and the Rapid Response Choir will perform. Behavioral health professionals will be available on site as well as an updated list of trans resources. \nThis event can also be attended virtually.​
